The Third Buddhist Summit was held in December 2002 at the Throne Hall, Royal Palace, located in the center of Phnom Penh, the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The conference was honored by the presence of H.M. King Norodom Sihanouk and H.M. Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk of Cambodia, as well as H.E. Hun Sen, Prime Minister, H.E. Chea Sim, President of Senate, and H.R.H. Norodom Ranariddh, President of National Assembly. Supreme Buddhist leaders and national leaders from 15 countries attended the conference.
