The Second Buddhist Summit was held in November 2000, at the main hall of Buddhamonthon, Thailand, under the patronage of H.H. Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. H.R.H. Maha Vajiralongkorn, Crown Prince of Thailand, presided the conference on behalf of His Majesty the King, and the supreme Buddhist leaders from 14 countries and 2 regions as well as national leaders, including H.E. Chuan Leekpai, Prime Minister of Thailand, attended the conference.
